CCRP supports a diverse set of projects to tackle some of the most important and formidable challenges faced by humanity through crop research. Project teams, working in some of the most difficult parts of the world, often lack the full capabilities in research methods that are needed to fulfill their ambitious plans. RMS is thus an important part of the non-grant assistance that CCRP provides to its grantees. For several years, the RMS project has played a key role in ensuring the use of sound and innovative methodologies within CCRP. The RMS team is an integral member of the CCRP program structure (including regional teams as well as the overall leadership team), and this third phase of the RMS project, the RMS team continues to help strengthen and advance the research work.
With the CCRP’s increasing investment in developing farmer research networks (FRNs), there is an growing need to support the associated data flow processes that will allow farmers to learn from the collective efforts of the FRN to which they contribute. To support this, SSD will work with grantees to develop data and information systems that will close information loops for multiple actors (instead of one-way information flows).
