The pictures were taken during base line survey study (farmer identify the disease symptom) at Lemu, Hadiya and practical training from Doyo Gena, Kembata Tembaro zone. The first picture illustrate how farmers' easily identify the disaease symptom from his infected field. The second picture shows how the disease become a threat for enset production and productivity. Most of the farmers are aware of the existence of EXW disease, and that the use of contaminated tools is a major route of transmission. Whether or not they possess the knowledge of disinfection practices is unclear. But they are not taking any preventative or disease control measures.
