Farmers, who have intercropped maize and beans are receiving a short training on the use of botanical pesticides, they are participating in the trial of mixing measured powders in a water that has 0.1% soap by practicing measuring volumes of water and soap as well as weighing plant powders.

Mr. Prosper Kweka, a farmer in Moshi-Lyamungo is preparing a botanical pesticide solution ready for spraying in his field the next day. Knowing the needed concentration, he is involving his son Innocent to measure a known weight of a powder and then dissolve into a known volume of water.
