Saturday, June 18, 2011 to Wednesday, June 22, 2011

CoP7-Andes was held July 18-22, 2011 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The objectives of the meeting were to: 1. share research and development results and learning from the projects and foment critical feedback from the members of the community of practice; 2. jointly reflect on the how the projects currently incorporate and can incorporate the interests,
necessities and priorities of farmers in their projects; 3. generate a space of exchange, collaboration and learning for the participants in general and forthematic sub‐groups in particular; and 4. take advantage of global and local knowledge to promote innovation in the communities and improve the project interventions. During the CoP7-Andes meeting, participants had an Agrecol-hosted field day to visit the community of Chuñuchuñuni. Participants split into small groups to accompany farmers and to learn about the following practices: use of medicinal plants, making chuño (freeze dried potato), selecting potato seed and using wind to thresh barley.
